New comedy series starring and written by Catherine Tate

Doctor Who co-stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate are set to be reunited in a new TV comedy. Tate is also writing the show, Americons, about a couple who move to America. According to showbusiness industry site Deadline, which broke the news, the show is ‘in the advanced stages of development for Sky One’. Given its premise, the show seems perfect for a US sale, too, especially as Tate is known to American audiences for her role in the NBC version The Office as Nellie.

After their Doctor Who pairing, in which Tate played Donna Noble to Tennant's Time Lord, the pair worked together on a stage production of Much Ado About Nothing in 2011 and the recent reboot of Disney animation DuckTales, where Tate voices villainous sorceress Magica De Spell and Tennant is Scrooge McDuck.
