Born in Iceland and grew up in Norway. His Icelandic and Norwegian are both native.
As well as being a well regarded and successful actor he has also founded the award winning Icelandic Theatre & Film Company - Vesturport.
Received a Shooting Stars Award at Berlin Film Festival 2007 for his role in 'Children' .
Holds an Order of the Falcon, Knight's Cross for services to Icelandic Culture.
