He achieved international recognition and acclaim for his leading role as Chris Washington in the horror film Get Out (2017) for which he was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, SAG Award, and BAFTA Award as Best Actor and W'Kabi in the box office smash Black Panther (2018). In 2018, he won the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
He grew up in North London.

He is nominated for ‘Actor in a supporting role’ for his part in Judas and the Black Messiah. The Oscars will take place on the 25th April.
